Dr. Ron
I was born in Miami, OK, and raised in Picher, OK., ( the town that is no more!). I am the 13th child of 13, 7 boys and 6 girls. After graduating from Picher High School, in 1968 , I married one of my school classmates, Ruth, July 5th 1969. We just celebrated our 40th anniversary. We have four children, Dr. Russ, Rebecca, Richard, and Rachel, and we also have six grandchildren ( 1 granddaughter and 5 grandsons).
I was working for B.F. Goodrich tire company in Miami when I got a letter from my local draft board letting me know I was being drafted for the military. So, for the next 19 months, I was a proud member of the U.S. Army. Dr. Russ was born while I was still in Boot Camp.
After, getting discharged, I went back to work for Goodrich, and worked there for a few more years. I eventually started working for Yellow Freight Company, loading and unloading trucks, and doing some city delivery. One day while at work, I had a fall that resulted in a fracture of part of a vertebra in my low back. This caused me to have low back pain as well as numbness in both legs almost to my knees. After consulting with our company medical practitioners, they recommended surgery. I refused surgery, and started going to a chiropractor. After a few months, I was pain free, had no numbness, and had decided what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I thought, “if I can help only one person as much as I was helped”, it would be well worth the effort of going back to college with 4 children and a wife to care for. That goal has been surpassed many times, as I, through the use of Chiropractic care and with the cooperation of patients, have been able to help hundreds of those patients realize health and wellness.
